Honeymoons Can Be Hazardous
Book 4 in the Amish Matchmaker Series

by Amanda Flower

Lois Henry and her best friend Millie Fisher, a member of the Old Order Amish, are back as a murder solving duo in Honeymoons Can Be Hazardous.

About the book

The odd duo of spikey haired Lois Henry and her best friend Millie Fisher, a member of the Old Order Amish, have another murder to solve. Only this time, it’s personal because Lois is one of the suspects. The murder victim is Paige “Honeybee” Moorhead. She is the wife of Gerome “Rocksino-Guy” Moorhead, Lois’ ex-husband. Paige dies when a large cuckoo clock malfunctions, crushing her to death.
Lois’s former relationship with Rocksino-Guy puts her on Deputy Luke Little’s suspect list along with her former husband. Lois knows neither of them murdered Paige, and she is determined, with Millie’s (aka Amish Marple) help to bring the murderer to justice.
While investigating Paige’s murder, Lois and Millie stumble upon a drug smuggling ring in Holmes County. Though neither has any desire to cross paths with a drug dealer, their murder investigation becomes more intertwined with the drug problem in the county, putting them both in danger.

My Thoughts

Honeymoons Can Be Hazardous is book 4 in the Amish Matchmaker Series. It’s always a treat to come back to the village of Harvest and interact with familiar characters and meet new ones. The tone of this book is a bit darker, but it still fits into the series. There is still humor (especially with Millie’s goats). The strength of the relationships, especially the lifelong friendship between Millie and Lois shines in this book. In spite of their very different lifestyles, the women have each other’s back.

Honeymoons Can Be Hazardous is a great addition to the Amish Matchmaker series.
